Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has been appointed new Navy chief.
According to the spokesman for the Pakistani Navy, Naveed Ashraf will be promoted to admiral on Saturday. On the same day, the command change ceremony will take place at the naval headquarters in Islamabad.
Naveed Ashraf was appointed to the Pakistani Navy Operations Department in 1989. He is a graduate of the National Defense University Islamabad, the US Naval War College and the British Royal College of Defense Studies.
Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has extensive experience working in key leadership and staff positions. He is currently chief of staff at the naval headquarters.
In recognition of his exceptional professional achievements and courage, Naveed Ashraf was also awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (military) and Tamgha-i basalat.
